Together and Forever

Chapter 151 - The Saving Of Samantha

"Mason, who do you think you are?"
Gina just blown off when Mason burst in Lockridge's house.
"Get off! Where is she?"
"Who? Mason, are you crazy?"
"Where is my daughter?"
"No, you're just crazy! How Samantha can be here?"
"Augusta!" Mason rushed to the staircase and ran upstairs. "Give me my baby! Right now!"
Gina shrugged and turning bumped to Mary.
"What's with him? Really DT's?" she sarcastically asked. "Are problems in Paradise? So take Mason and..."
But mother's ear already catching the child's voice somewhere in the patio and Mary rushed into the garden. "Samantha!"
Alive and unharmed Sammy sat in the wicker chair cowering in front of Augusta. Heard Mary's cry she whirled around, her eyes widened and she ran to her mother. "Mommy! Mommy!"
Mary picked her up, holding close and immediately turned away, hiding her little girl from everyone. "My God! Sammy, are you all right?"
"Of course, she is!" Augusta majestically turned to her. "I would never harm a baby. I..."
At this point Mason burst in the garden and saw Sammy, letting out a sigh of relief. "Thank God!" He turned sharply to Augusta. "How dare you!"
But his tirade was cut by sobbing Sammy. "Mommy, mommy, you do not leave me anymore? Please, don't leave me alone!"
"Of course, sweetie! Of course, I'll never leave you! This lady does not take you away again..."
"She is a liar! She said that they buried you in the ground and I'll never see you! She said that I must to go to your big stone and tell it how I live! Mommy, I do not want to tell your stone! I do not want to bury you!"
Feeling everyone's eyes Augusta become pale, then she blushed.
"I just..."
"You'll never get close to my daughter! Do you understand me?" Mason was pale with anger and stepped toward her. "Never more!"
"Mason, let's go away," Mary asked, whispering soothing words to Samantha. God, her girl suffered enough because Augusta's idiotic antics!
"Of course!"
Mason came up and tried to take Sammy from her, but the girl clung to Mary even stronger wrapping her legs and arms like a little monkey. Mason did not insist and gently steered Mary to the door. They walked downstairs and through the house to the entrance. Just before the front door Mason stopped and turned back.
"Tomorrow I'll get a restraining order," he rapt out addressing to Augusta.
"That's not necessary," she shook her head. Mary looked up and realized that Augusta was almost crying. But she doesn't feel sorry for her. "Mason, I'm really sorry. I did not think that she will assume... I just wanted to say..."
"I don't care about your regrets! You were repeatedly warned! Tomorrow I'll get the order. Hopefully now I finally can protect my daughter from your selfish antics!" With these words Mason went out with Mary and Sammy in tow and slammed the door.
"I did not want..." Augusta repeated perplexedly and just noticed Gina's presence. "You have nothing to see here!"
"I never thought that you could hurt this little girl!" Gina said with disgust and walked away into the depths of the house.

On the way home Sammy had burst into tears for several times. Mary comforted her, hating herself that she did not pay enough attention to Augusta's intentions.
"My little baby, my tiny girl," she repeated softly stroking Sammy's head. "I will not give you anyone..."
When they finally return home, Mrs. Rold immediately ran to them.
"You found her! Thank God!"
She kissed the sleeping girl to the cheek, patted her head.
"Mrs. Capwell, I'm so sorry..." She started but the policeman appeared from her back.
"Mr. and Mrs. Capwell?"
"Yes, we are," Mason confirmed.
"We got the call about a kidnapping case. As I can see as the girl already was found?"
"Yes, she was," Mary answered and went into the house, taking Sammy with her. "Fortunately it's all right now."
"Come, I'll explain them", Mason said. He waited until Mary goes in the house and then turned to the policeman. "My daughter actually was kidnapped and I know who did it."

Mary had great difficulty to calm down upset Samantha. But even when her girl fell asleep peacefully Mary still has not been able to move away from her. She knew that it was purely selfish feeling but she cannot help. She would be sitting at the bed even much more but the door opened and the blond boy slipped in the room.
"Sam's sleep?" Chip asked quietly.
"Yes, she is." Mary hugged him and felt her son fondly cuddled up to her. "Everything will be fine."
"Promise?" Chip's voice was filled with so great hope that Mary's eyes welled up with tears.
"Of course," Mary lifted him up and carried to the door. "Sammy will have a good sleep, and everything will be as was before."
She closed the door and put Chip down on the floor. "You became so heavy; soon I'll not able pick you up."
"But I'll grow up so big and strong like my daddy! And I'll pick you up on my hands!
Mary smiled.
"I hope you'll pick up not me but the other girls. Go to sleep, Chipper Gorgeous!
"I'm Chipper Gorgeous! I'm Chipper Gorgeous!" Chip bounced. "R-r-r!"
"Young man, you rouse up the whole house!" Mason appeared like out of nowhere and grabbed his son. "Go wash and sleep!"
"Mommy!" Chip squeaked under his arms. "Help me!"
"Okay, but only to your top half," Mary agreed and Chip crawled into her arms by his upper half of his body.
Mary and Mason carried him to the nursery: Mary had Chips' arms and Mason had Chips' legs.
Inside of the room Mason dropped the son on his bed.
"Take off your clothes, Cowboy. You must be in the bed in five minutes."
"Yes, sir!" Chip stood at attention in his half-taken off shorts.

Mary came out to check Mickey. She leaned over the crib thinking that the youngest son is soundly asleep but as if sensing that his mommy's here Mickey woke up and demanded his share of eating. Finally sated he did not fall asleep for some reason and goggles his little eyes. Mary took him on her hands and went to see out of the window. What are bright stars! Mickey begins to soft snore and Mary almost burst in tears. The contrast of the experienced horror and the warm family home caused confusion in her mind.
Finally she put her son down on the bed and went into the master bedroom. Semi-naked Mason sat on the edge of the bed and looked through some papers.
"Lawyer's working never ends," she sighed and started to undress too.
"Not at all." Mason's head snapped up and he took documents away in one motion. "Are the children alright?"
"Yes. Fortunately. I think Sam will forget it in a couple of days."
"But I never forget," Mason frowned.
"What did you tell the police?
"That Augusta Lockridge stole my baby. They'll shake her properly."
"OK," Mary climbed into the bed close to him. "I do not want to think about it."
"You do not need to. I am sure that she will not bother us anymore. Although I've already got the restraining order."
"Mason, you talk too much. Forget Augusta and kiss me."
Just expecting these words Mason selflessly obeyed the order. The great ending is not the easiest of the day. Actually the best one.
