Chapter 58 — Captured? (1 Part)

For a few seconds everyone stay in destroying silence. Mary stay near Mason, closing her eyes by her elbow because the blinding light of searchlight. Suddenly lights become lesser bright, and became possible to see guards with weapon who is surrounding them.
"You see--" began Mason, but he was crudely stopped: "Keep quiet!"
"But--"
"How you were!" they heard someone's voice. Mary and Mason saw the male figure of the person in tens foots aside.
"I am owner of the residence," the man evilly said. "I already did call police--"
"Drop it," Mason interrupted him. He looks directly at his face. "We all know that you did not call police."
"You'll see," the man just turned to go away.
"Yes. We'll see, Lawrence Duvall."
The dark figure was stopped.
"How you named me?" the man hollowly asked.
"It's your name."
"Lead them in the crypt," he ordered to guards.
Mary freezing with terror, she wanted to cry. Are they leaded to be buried as alive? Mason's hand calmly presses her hand. Oh, Mason, what is the hell that I am pulls in you!?
Pushing in their backs by weapon, guards leaded Mason and Mary in the house. It's a little becalmed Mary because the house was not the graveyard. They were left alone in the large room. The room likes not any crypt; it's been just the studio of the rich businessman. Mary embraced Mason and feel how is powerfully beating his heart.
"Mary!" the shade rushes to her from the door.
"Christie!" Mary embraced her sister and cried. "My God, how are you? Are you OK?"
"Yes, I am fine!" Christie move close to her. "I am sorry that I did not tell you! I am so sorry!"
"All be all right, do not worry! My little sister ... I was so afraid that you already are not alive!"
"And actually it's vainly," they heard the man's calm voice from the door. "Christie was in full safety here."
All three were turned to the man. Now he was well seen and they saw that this man in his forties, high and lean. With dark thinning out hair and fine lips. In the beige suit and standing in careless pose of a longing tourist.
"Really?" Mary upset said. "My sister was like a prisoner in the prison here!"
"It's been for her safety."
"Yes?" Mary said. "In the same way as Mason need to die for my well being?"
Her whisper produced the effect of the blown bomb. The men's head is moved.
"I am not--"
"Let's speak peacefully," Mason interfered. "Without threats and accusations. In our both sides' favors to do not let that anybody gets hurt, right?" He looks at Larry's eyes. Their eyes met.
"You are right," he reply and with inviting gesture show to the sofa. "Make yourself at home."
In spite of clearly sounded irony, Mason calmly sit down and move close Mary. Christie sits down too, nearly on the small piece of the sofa.
"So?" Mason moves his head. "May be, we meet other each for beginning?"
"Mason, why?" Mary presses his hand.
"Calm down, Mary. Its necessary--" Mason quietly answered and said louder: "My name is Mason Capwell. She is my soon-be wife Mary Duvall."
"As I can see, you already know my name. My name is--" Larry paused. "My full name Lawrence Garland Duvall. I am your uncle, Mary."
"I know," Mary answered.
"Uncle?" Christie stands up. "But you did say--"
"I lied," he calmly said. And then looked at Mary. "I'll explain you soon. But only privately," he expressively nod to the side of door. "No way!" Mary jumps up. "I never leave Mason!"
"You are in full my power," he objected. "If I'll want that nobody go outside as alive — nobody." He becomes silent and then apologized. "I am sorry; I did not want to threaten you. But you damaged all my plans, when appeared here."
"Moreover, what are your plans?" Mason asked. "Since we already broken up its so may be you would tell about them?"
