Chapter 42 — All Troubles Have The One Answer. Or Two.
"What are you mean?" Mason frown. "How these cases can be connected among themselves?"
"Well, first," Mary began to bend fingers. "Da... the person, similar at my father appeared at once after our returning to Santa Barbara. And nobody from your family had his life in the danger — neither before nor after, right?"
"Right."
"Second, the attempt to kill you hadn't repeat, it taken place only once and when yet NOBODY know, where we are. All rest time you and me were not separated--"
"Wait... If you want to tell that this person... Mr. X wanted to kill me but without you?"
"Otherwise I can not explain the fact that they did not more attempts."
"But you see, if you think that he can be... your... your father? Mary?"
"Mason, how you dare!" Christie was upset up to depth of her soul.
"Calm down," Mary unexpectedly imperiously told to her sister and again looked at Mason. "Of course I do not think this. Moreover I do not think that this person is our father. I do not believe."
"But who is this? You see, if he not Jesus," Christie upraise her hands.
Mary's fingers find by feeling her cross.
"Don't be stupid," she said to her sister. "But I feel that this man is not our father. And his appearance has a very strange shade."
"Here all events and appearances are strange — from first until the last," Mason grinned. At the point the storm roared directly above their heads and lamps are blinking.
"Damm!" Mason is straightening. "I hope that the electric wiring will stand--"
"Will stand," Mary confidently told and after hesitating adds. "I am not directly it meant. Just it seems to me that the solution of this mystery is very simple. As if we are passing past it and not pay attention."
"May be but, Lord sees that I can not image as this situation can be solved by a simple way."
"Me too, but my intuition speaks other--" end of Mary's sentence was aborted by the passionate kiss, which, however, soon was interrupted my sarcastic voice of her little sister.
"I am sorry, but it seems that I should remain with yours for this night. Look, how is storming outside!"
"Sweetie, you never was spoke what is impolite to interrupt the people who doing such important business, did you?" Mason's eyes flashed with sparks.
"Did not yet," Christie daring answered.
Mason wanted yet to tell something, but Mary does not give him a chance.
"Surely you will stay here. You will spend the night in downstairs, right, Mason?"
"I should spend the night downstairs?" Mason offended.
"Of course not you!" Mary looked on him as on feeble-minded. "Christie will spend the night downstairs."
"Hum--" Mason said with a clever look and unexpectedly chuckle.
The strict look kept by Mary not more than 10 seconds and then she laughed. Christie kept longest but then also surrendered and joined to their laughter.

At the point in Capwells house everybody was worried and waited for news from Cruz, who makes his best for searching Eden after she was taken away by the unknown bearded man just before Cruz and CC.
"Daddy, I need to call Mason!" Kelly suddenly remembered. "He nothing knows about Eden!"
"Not present," CC seized her hand. "Don't take our phone line! Cruz can call here... And Mason will wait."
"But it will take pair of minutes only."
Kelly dialed the number. And she bewildered listened to long hooters.
"It is strange that nobody answer... May be there are something wrong happened?" she worried looked at her father.
"Hardly. Just probably they don't pick up the receiver. Hang down, later you call again!"
Reluctantly Kelly hangs down and at the moment the phone was blown up. CC seized the receiver.
"Yes! Yes, Cruz. Do you have news? What? Do you found her? Did you? Whence? We'll go there! What? Cruz! Well, OK, OK, we will wait for your calling."
"What was happened? What he speaks?" Ted, Sophia and Kelly surrounded CC. They all are simple die with worries.
"They tracked whence were did that mysterious call! Cruz considers that it was done by Eden, and I think that he is right! The call was made from Obernati's stables!"
CC rubs his cheek and with again firing hope looks around.
"Cruz will rescue her! I sure. It'll all be alright..."
