Chapter 7 — Is This My Dream?
However, it didn’t take him long to realize that this is not Mark and more so this is not Mary. A large family with many children lived in the house. So this means that he has only two more houses...
Mason went to next house and listened. It was absolutely quiet inside. He carefully went around the house and glanced through a window. Just a room, empty... Understanding that if someone will enter and see him he will think that he is a thief, Mason jumped and climbed in the window. He only had time to make a few steps and suddenly he heard someone walking. Mason rushed to the wall and hide behind the door, hoping not to be noticed. The steps came nearer to the room. The person stayed close to it for some moments and then... continued. Mason breathed in relief. It seems the danger has passed!
However he still did not find out if this is where Mary lives. Therefore he peek out the hall and silently gone. Mason did not know about where are the rooms, but tasty smell told him in which part he could find the kitchen.
Mason tiptoed and reached the kitchen door where he stopped hesitating. To see or not to take risks? Then he took a deep sigh, reached the handle of a door and... With fast burst opened it. In the kitchen at the table on which there was the cup with coffee, sitting... was Mary.
Yes, this was just the Mary he remembered. The same soft hair scattered on shoulders, the same warm shiny eyes... Mason suddenly felt deaf and blind. He made a few steps and touched the ghost. The ghost was a warm and quite human. She looked at Mason with widely open eyes, in which was hope and pleasure.
"Mary? Is it really you? Is it not a dream?" Mason heard her voice as though from a fog.
"Yes, Mason. It's me. And this is not your dream."
