However, soon come in Christie who resolutely discharged her and taken away Chip and Sammie on the walk. After five minutes since their leaving out there are knocked to the door. Mary thought that Christie forgot some of children stuff, and even had time to regret sister who was forced to drag in the twin carriage back to the apartment, but in doors she saw C.C. Capwell.
"Mr. Capwell... CC," she remembered under his reproachful sight. "Come in. Mason is not at here, he is in the court."
"I aware. And I wished to know why he does not answer my calls. And on Eden's ones. She is very vulnerable now, in her condition," CC walks into the apartment.
"I did not know that you did call. Mason did not speak to me," Mary puzzled said, but then she realized how many events happened here in last weeks. Now these seemed be such far like they were in other life.
"But now do you know. Eden made so many things for your wedding, and Mason still does not realize that he needs to visit her after all."
"It's unfair!" Mary sharply stands up. "You even do not know that are happened with us. How you can judge Mason like this?"
"What are happened with yours?"
"It's not important now, all of them are resolved. But Mason is not guilty, he did care about me. I'll surely visit Eden. Very soon."
"Mary," CC come closer and took her hands. "What are happened? Your uncle is discomforting you again? We can protect you--"
"No. Thanks, but it's not my uncle. I should not be protected by yours, my protection is Mason. But who will protect him?"
CC laughed. "Too pity that you cannot see yourself now! Otherwise you easily would answer your own question."
Mary smiled, taking a hint, and some relaxing. At the point the door opened, and Mason comes into apartment with fast steps. He saw his father and halted.
"Mason! I thought that you will be in the court until late evening," Mary was surprised.
"I need take some papers," he replied keeping look at CC. Mary almost physically feels how a tension is growing. She wanted to walk to Mason, but he goes in the living room, seized some papers from his table and take off for the door without saying any word.
"What is wrong with him?" Mary heard some anxiety for the son into CC's rage. "He behaves absolutely unaccepted!"
"You don't need to interfere here, CC. We must make it by ourselves."
"I worry about you. I do not want that my son make you suffer."
"He'll not," Mary firmly said. "I very ask you do not interfere. You are too important for Mason that he could say you about."
"But he have you for this," CC said discontentedly. "It's his decision to keep silence, right?"
"Not, it's our common decision. Believe me, CC, it's better for all of us."
"I hope that you are right. Also I hope that you will ask me about the help when it is required to you. Mason hardly will go for some like this."
"Once he already did," Mary reminded. "We lived some months in your house. Remember?"
"I did not turn out him!"
"I know. But if we want that your house remained for us a saving anchor, we should not live there constantly."
"All right, I will agree with it."
CC is up and walks to the door. Before go out he turned back: "But there is one thing that I was completely right. Mason is very lucky that you agreed to become his wife."
"Really I am who was lucky," Mary thought looking at the door that was closed behind the oil tycoon. "You just cannot imagine how much lucky I was".
