Chapter 25 — Home, Sweet Home...
Mason and Mary approached to Santa Barbara. Already coming midday, because Mason decides doesn't wake up Mary early in the morning and let her to sleep well.
"Mason, look!" Mary even rise in her car's place. "What is horror!"
Mason is sharply stopped after looking there, where she showed. Windows of his apartment were covered by soot, and all show signs that yet recently there was happened the large fire.
"Children!" escaped from Mason. Mary turned pale. "My GOD, how I can thank that I asked Kelly to take away them in the father's house! It is terribly to think what would be happened if..."
Mason cannot say until the end, because Mary becomes weak and almost lost consciousness.
"Mary, Mary! It is OK! They were not there. They were not."
Mary straightened, grip by her hand for his shoulder. Her face began to turn in normal colors.
"Stay in the car, please? I will back soon."
And Mason comes to the house in fast steps. After short conversation with the owner of the building, he returned to Mary.
"What was happened there?" Mary stood near the car and with fear looked at him.
"The explosion. In the last night."
"Is the people...? They did this. But how they can to found out where are we?"
"Mark," Mason compressed his lips. "There is only one explanation. They found him and he told them.
"And what are we can to do?" Mary almost cried.
"We have only one chance. To surrender for my father and ask him to give us the refuge in his house," Mason look past her. "I never thought that I will do like this but I need — for the sake of you and children nevertheless."
"Are you thinking that your father will agree?"
"Yes. He adore when someone go to begging him."
"Mason... I am sorry that I involved you in all this terrible things," Mary glanced in his face. He smiled.
"You need excuse me for my dammit adventurism. If I did handed Mark to police as I need to do, or even just give back him these papers, an anything like this there did not taken place."
"How you can know... Though may be there is something positive too."
"And what is it?" Mason with interest looked at Mary.
"May be at last you will reunite with your father?"
"Mary... Actually you still do not absolutely change!" Mason's eyes are flashed in a second. "OK, let's go. We will look, whether if so my father is noble, as you think about him."

"CC, stop to run on the house, you make me mad!" Sophia already some upset looked at CC. "Mason was not there so it is OK."
"What is OK?? Nothing can be OK, if my carelessly son's apartment was blown by someone, we have not an idea where he is, and his children is here and they is out of his care!" CC was in rage.
"If you remember that you by yourself offered him to take care about Chip and Samantha?"
"Of course, they are my grandsons. But I should know that Mason will show self as he can! How he could contacted with these criminals!"
"Why you think that he has any contact with criminals?"
"His apartment was blown. If you need more stuff?"
"Yes, of course. Kelly knows something about the person who accompanies Mason and if she protects this person, I think it meaning, we know this person. This was someone, who deserving of our protection."
"Kelly is very inexperienced in real life. She is yet absolutely child, and Mason just uses her in the purposes. Now I will call to Stalson. I need to secure the children. They are not guilty that they have Mason as their father!"
"CC," Sophia's up and stunned looked at him. "You are... Tell me that you don't going to do the thing about I think?"
"I do not know about what you think, but I want to start the trial trusteeship. Chip and Samantha should be in safety, which Mason cannot give them."
"CC, you don't dare! About you think! Want you to turn in orphans our grandsons?"
"They will not the orphans in my house. And if they will stay with Mason they will become the orphans exactly."
"CC!" Sophia helplessly looked him when he going to out. "My God, don't let him to make the thing which just ruin our family," escaped from her. "It would be just awfully!"
