Chapter 26 — Home Is Where The Heart Is
Mason's car come approach to Capwell house and Mason became gloomier. Mary suppressed was silent. She still felt her fault for Mark's actions.
"Mason--"
"What?" he turned his anxious and sad face to her.
"Mason, what is you think about?
Mason sighed and answered the truth.
"I think about that my father will tell me when he will see me. Of course he already informed about the explosion."
"He will be glad to know that you do not injure!"
"And dam me because that I allow this, Mary. And what do my father will able now know only God."
In this moment they already can see Capwell's house and Mason broken off, driving out from the ocean avenue. He stopped his car, climbs out and helped Mary to out.
"Now we are here. The finish. The way back already is not for us. We must go in, Mary."
"Mason, wait!"
"What is wrong?"
"Lets we will stand here for a minute, please. I just need a minute before we come in."
Mason surprised move by his shoulders.
"OK."
He looks at the view of park around Capwells' estate. Then he looked at the belvedere and moves his eyes to Mary. And he smiled.
"Yes, I everything remember too. We spent so wonderful time together in that time!"
"While I was last stupid and damaged all. I have only one apology — I was not normal stupid, and I was the-stupid-in-love!"
Mary laughed.
"We will go," she told. "We must go to your father."
She taken Mason's hand and after few steps bravely pushed the heavy door.

The hall was empty. But in other side everything was as before. Mary examined well familiar walls and again wonders to how poorly change the world in past year. However something new she can see then. Eden's photo in the mourning framework on the table.
Mary approached to it.
"Mason, how she can die--"
"Eden was lost in air accident this winter."
"Mason, I am so sorry! She was your sister. Like Christie for me."
"I know," Mason sadly smiled. "I miss her now too, though a lot of time passed already."
Mary embraced him.
"A time will treat you."
"Mason! Thank God, you are OK!" Rosa hastened to him, but she suddenly stopped. She was shocked. "Mary?!"
"Yes," Mason answered before Mary can say something. "She is Mary. Don't afraid, Rosa."
"But how she--"
"I do not know how, but she is alive. To my improbable happiness!"
"I am very glad to see you again, Mary!" Rosa embraced her.
"Me too!" Mary smiled.
"Rosa, where is my father?" Mason interrupted them. "I need to talk with him."
"CC's in the study. But he is--"
"Mad," Mason finished for her. "I do not doubt. But thank you for warning. You always this did, right? The most time of my childhood."
"Your father is not evil after all," Rose stroked his shoulder. "Though he have the very difficult character."
"And when he completes will eat me, if you speak the same?" Mason dry smiled. "OK, I need go to him. Mary, I will back soon! I promise."

Mason with decisive step come in the study. CC talked by the phone, but when he sees Mason — quickly hanged down.
"Аha. You are at home at last," his voice was angry, but in the deep can to feel the relief too. "And what are excuses you save for me in this time?"
Mason had no time to answer. The door open before Mason's back, and clearly trembling Mary's voice say/
"Everything's taken place because of me."
"Here is my excuse," Mason firmly told and embracing Mary, looked directly in CC's eyes.
