Together and Forever

Chapter 87 — Relative Blood

A few days have passed as one and without special events, except that Chip and Samantha who finally learnt how walking, and now they're taken much more time of their parents then they did early.
"It seems that they should not be making it so simultaneously," Mason complained after the week. "They are like a typhoon."
"Yes, Sammy quickly overtaken for her brother," Mary agreed. "She's very smart, like her mother probably."
Mason caught that her last words sadly sounded and realized that Mary's meaning not herself, but Julia. He looked at his wife.
"Mason, do you did not think what we'll tell them when they'll grow up? They'll never learn their bio mothers, but they'll remember us both as their parents."
"What we can tell? The truth, I think. That their mothers were died in the accident."
"And also that I'm step-mother to them."
"Mary, doesn't say like this. What is a matter? They love you, they already do."
"They still little babies... And there is one more baby on the way," she stroked her prominent stomach, "who's blood related to both of us."
"And to both of them, by the way. Do you think that they will count how many relative blood have by every of them?"
"Well, you did count when you were a child."
Mason does not answer, and Mary suddenly realized.
"I'm sorry, I should not--"
"Its fine, I just try to see. No, I had the different situation. I knew who my mother is, I remembered her and I wanted to see her. I loved her, at last. But I and you will be always as a complete family. Nobody from our children will be outcast what I was. I will take care about."
"I do not doubt it," Mary embraced him. "I just nervous how children will see the truth."
"It does be all right," Mason firmly told. And he cannot help, but continued: "But there upon still something makes nervous me. Chip and Samantha have other relatives after all. Augusta is not interested in her niece yet, but later she can start to demand to get a meeting with her. Fortunately, Victoria's mother contented with calls about Chip's wellbeing and does not try to look for meetings."
"Do you think that it is good way? Perhaps it would be just better one if his grandmother and her aunt would visit children. Probably then it would be easier to them to accept that their mothers are dead."
"No way! You can make everything that you want but I don't going to search Augusta and set her to visit Sammy!"
"Hm. It is already interesting. Do you really mean that I can do with you everything that I'll want?
Mason's eyes flashed with sparkles.
"Well, I guess that you can. And what?"
"Just I got one idea. And you already were afraid? Like you even shake with fear."
"Well, you are not right. Not with fear."
Mary blushed, and Mason joyful smiled. And then he embraced her for shoulders.
"My God, how easily make you confused until now!"
"See I'm the same person as I was earlier."
"I cannot to agree."
"Actually?"
"Perhaps, yes. You are changed--"
"I hope that I did in a better way?" some worried asked Mary.
"Surely. It is difficult to me to pick up right words," Mary highly lifted her eyebrow, "but I can see that if you have added with something. As if something released you and helped to reveal more."
Mary becomes serious.
"Yes, you are right in some way," she accepted. "But it must be happened just recently. Half of year ago when you brought me on Capwell's yacht I was not like this."
"It was not happened then, but also recently was not too. I do not know when I realized that you did. On the yacht you were deadly afraid by... you know by whom."
"Do not be afraid to say his name. By Mark."
"Yes, by your ex-husband Mark," Mason quickly looked at her and lowered his face. "You'd frightened and me may be was stronger frightened than you. It seemed me that it's just dream that will fade out soon, and I make everything to keep it longer."
"Well, you not looked being frightened to me. On the contrary, you were such assured. Like you were ready move mountains if I'll need."
"And to drown Mark."
"Don't say it, Mason."
"But it's the truth. I wanted to kill him then."
"You could not. You already had the experience."
Mason shuddered at his memoirs. Not about possible murder, but about his own despair at that time.
"Then on the yacht and after I almost regretted that I could not."
"You can kill nobody."
"Whence you can know it?"
"Simply I feel. You are not capable of murder. Mason, leave it behind, please."
"I would leave if I could. But nobody from both of us can pretend that the past year never happened."
"To pretend that it's not happened? We really need to remember all of good and to sweep on a back shelf all of bad. By the way we have here some of "good," Mary nodded at children who played in the double arena. "Do not dare to regret that they were born! Do not dare to forget about that the year when it's happened!""
"I listen and obey, My Saint Mary!"
Mary laughed and embraced him, starting to kiss on his mouth. And then after she casually paid attention to the one thing around she was suddenly taken away. Mason lifted his head and see that they were tracked by four shining eyes from the arena.
"Yes, I guess that we should be more cautious now," Mason concluded. "With these rascals its need to be always on the alert."
"It's a heavy parental part, is it?"
"Yes, it's the hardest part!"
