After one and a half hour Mary already was on her way to the doctor's appointment. She and Eden are made the simple and genius plan. They masked Eden's tests as medical procedures for her in the distant rehabilitation centre. Sophia did want to going with the daughter, but Eden convinced her that it's no necessity. Eden's new doctor doesn't seem enjoyed but agreed to support Eden and confirmed her words. "Procedures" should take only a few days, and Eden managed to convince Cruz that encouragement is not necessary to her now. As a matter of fact, Eden just was not aware that her family have the gathering just the day before because their concerning about her condition. They were upset that she becomes too nervous in last days because her paralysis and they accept as a good sign that she decided to be taking a sort of rehabilitation.
Mason prepares for judicial session as it just should begin. He caught himself on re-reading the half-paged document already in third time, and angrily slammed it on the top of pile. He found that it's difficult to concentrate on the case, and his thoughts all time came back to his last conversation with Mary. Something was wrong, but what? Mary did not look frightened, she seems quite assured. But for some reason it seems to Mason that she hides something. At the point the belief declared that Judge Mertison comes in, and Mason clear his head from not clear doubts. The good fight is coming!
After doctor's visit Mary comes back in high spirits. All tests showed fine state of health of her baby, and she have not any signs of morning illness. By her doctors' words her first and only faint was only exception and the result of stress. The apartment met her with cheerful fuss of children in the arena, and younger sister who was thrown in her arms with overfilling of emotions. Mary noticed again how much Christie changed. She became more serious and self-assured. And cheerful. Completely other with gloomy girl-teenager as she was before her death. Yes, Mary accepts it. She gone through death and came back from some like heaven.
"Why do you look at me like that?" Christie curiously asked. "If I have children's mashed fruits on my nose?"
"No, just... Just I am proud of you."
Christie puzzled shakes her head and grinned.
"May be I misheard?"
"No," Mary hearty embraced her sister. "I love you. Do you understand me?"
"No," Christie's smile became even wider."
"Really I should tell it in Chinese? Or in Russian?"
"No, I have enough in English! Just I not often heard some like this from you."
"Forgive me; I should more often remind you."
"And should not die.
Mary shuddered, and Christie continued: "After it happens, I many times talked to you. Fight with you," she flushed. "I was upset that you abandoned me... and mom. I did not know that you can return from the dead."
"The silly girl! Do you think that I love you lesser if we fight?"
"No, but... It is bad somehow."
"What exactly? That I dared to survive when you (assured what I cannot tweak your ears) can said me everything what you wanted?"
"Of course, not!"
"Then stop it. Our feelings never were ideal, remember?"
"Yes," Christie's face returned her cheerful grin. "You the best sister, of course, but sometimes its better does not come across to you in the heat of the moment."
"That's it," Mary made a strict face and then with all the heart burst out laughing. "My God, I never get enough of it! It seems that the eternity passed since we and you are normally chatting."
"I was a child then," Christie said. "And you were late teenager before monastery. I wonder--"
"What?"
"These children will fights in growing as well as we did in their ages?"
"I believe," Mary looked on Chip who was pore in turning off a head of Samantha's doll which Mason bought for her. Samantha, naturally, was still too small for such toys, but children used it just like a material for building of some tower. "It's possible that even more than we did. They are absolutely close on age. Virtual twins."
"And why? I guess that they will be better to understand each other when we did."
"It's seems to you. See how look alike their "understanding," with a snicker Mary points at Sammi who managed to pull out the stuffed elephant from under Chips' nose and whack it on his back. Chip deeply offended and seized elephant by its trunk, trying to take away it for him.
"I think that I'll to ask mom, if we fought because of toys," Christie uttered, observing for opposition which, however, was accompanied not by a roar, and strengthened panting.
"Ask," Mary absent-mindedly responded and pick up some note from the floor. It's was written by Mason's handwriting:
"The beach slave is sitting in the sand, he cannot become free, but his imprisonment can be his own unique way to avoid death".
Mary frowned. Why Mason wrote so strange note? She feels jim-jams. May be someone threatens him? But it's written by Mason. And not Mason's style was to write an unsigned letter. Besides, the text contents something that disturbed her. Something was vaguely familiar to her...
