Together and Forever

Chapter 90 — The One Who Can Be Trusted

Mary glared at the note too long time, and Christie repeats her name.
"What you read here?"
"Just nonsense," Mary automatically answered and put the note in the bureau box. She was captured by unpleasant sensation of coming troubles. To banish it, Mary forcedly smiled and returned to her sister.
"How is Jimmy?" Mary asked, wishing to change the subject.
"He's fine," Christie vaguely responded and quickly parried: "And how is Mason?"
"Thanks, he's fine too. Christy, you are in troubles, are you?"
"May be, a little. Do not worry, we'll work out."
"Really? Christie--"
"Yes. We'll OK as I already said. We some squabbled. Believe to me, please, it's nothing," Christie gave a begging look to Mary.
"I surely believe you. But I would like if you'll come to me if when you need any help. To me or our mother..."
At Mary's word "mother" Christie hemmed.
"You know better," Mary sighed. "Just there are a few people only who can survival without anyone's help. And the worst thing is when you are cornered, but still don't ask for help."
"If you seriously think that I'll not ask for help when I have Capwell family as my relatives-in-law?" Christie started giggling. Mary lifted her eyebrow, but then smiled also. Christie darted her glance at her watch." "By the way, I'm late. Just I'll go to take babies in beds."
Christie left in the sleeping room, and Mary again pulled out the ill-fated note and re-read it. Her inner feeling becomes stronger that Mason again got mixed up. In some dangerous story...

Just the door closed before Christie as Mason comes home. And he once felt that the tense of the air which in morning hanging between him and Mary, is even stronger now. It's means that it's real, he sadly thought.
"You're look tired," he heard Mary's voice and turned to her.
"I have the hard day in the court," he dryly answered. His tone even more convinced Mary that there is something bad. Feeling that the tense becomes unbearable, Mary pulled out the note and showing it Mason.
"What is it?" Mason do not moved, did not take the piece of the paper.
"I casually found it on the floor. Are you in troubles?"
Mason was surprised and took the note. Read. Bite his bottom lip.
"Mason--"
"What?"
"Some person threatens you?"
"If it's pointing to some like this?" He waved with the note in air. "It's look like a threat?"
"I do not know," Mary frankly told. "But the text frightened me."
"What silly girl," Mason suddenly wide smiled and drawing the stunned Mary to himself. "The piece of paper contents nothing because you can be worry."
"But what it means? Mason, what is it?"
"It is a part of my rough childhood."
"What?
Mason sighed, obeying necessity to tell her.
"Do you remember what I told you about Chris Rock early?"
Mary watchfully nodded.
"It's his words."
"His own?"
"Well, we're just chatted with him then. Chatted for long time. And he named me "beach slave". I really was a slave of beach and ocean."
Mary takes the note again and re-read it, trying to correlate with Mason's words. Then she shook her head.
"It's not clear for me even now."
"Just take it easy. Believe me; it isn't worth a brass farthing."
Mason embraced Mary; she nestled on his chest, trying to believe in his words. Finally she's got it but the presentiment of some troubles loomed somewhere nearby after all.

"Its means that we are agree on all," on the end of phone line the mysterious person resumed the deal. "The house will be mine for full month."
"Yes, it's prepared. I'll send keys with the courier."
"Perfectly," the mysterious person hanged up and mischievously grinned.
Just a few days, or the week as maximum separated him from long-time wished revenge to pompous Mason Capwell! Dammit him for ever and ever!
