Next morning Mason and Mary see each other at the Capwell's mansion atrium. Mary asks him how he feels himself, and touches his forehead. |
Having made sure that Mason is well she is going to leave but Mason reminds her the words about love she said earlier. He says he has heard everything and he was not sleeping. |
Mary is shocked and feels she was caught unawares. She answers in anger that she had pity for him the day before. |
Mason does not believe her and says that they do not declare their love out of pity. Mary does not deny she loves him but says that he is not that person she considered him to be earlier. |
Mason asks Mary to come to the reception he holds in the evening. Mary refuses and Mason asks her to think over it. |
Later Mary comes to the library and sees the picture of Mason on the shelf. Ted finds her looking at it and asks to come to the reception. |
Mary agrees and informs Mason about it, not forgetting to tell that she is coming because Ted asked her to do it. But Mason answers he knows for sure why she is coming - because of him! |

In the evening the time of the party comes. Mary and Mason see each other in the atrium. Mary reminds Mason immediately that she has come because Ted asked her about it. Mason answers it makes no difference. The fact she has come is above all. He takes her to the atrium and immediately starts the caustic cross talk with Eden, it makes Mary feel less comfortable.
During the party Mason proposes to transfer oil instead of its production and takes power over the company by using additional Brandon's vote that he has got with the custody over the boy. |
