The Beginning

Part 33
Mary calls Eden and start to talk to her but then she's frightened of some sound and hangs up. Eden is very surprised. Steve's back in the apartment.

Lionel tries to be a welcoming host but CC's angry and throwing his accusations. CC says that it's Lionel who had been killed in the day when Channing's died. Lionel should have died and Sophia should be going to prison for his murder.
CC points his gun at Lionel and Lionel can not understand why. CC says that he want to keep him from seeing Sophia ever again. And do not allow have Brandon in his hands. Lionel's amazing become bigger. At the point Sophia runs in. CC yells that it's too late; it's too late for both of them. Just she take one last look at her lover!

Eden tells Cruz that Mary had to hang up because she won't answer now. Gina approaches them and tells that probably CC is in troubles. He's walks to Lockridge's.

Ted tries to talks Christy out of the killing her rapist. They have the talk about their own relationship. Christy says when she's fell in love with Ted she never felt that way about anybody before. But it's her problem, not Ted's. He just... weren't interested. Ted replies that he's interested in being her friend.
Christy says that all her life as far back as she can remember she tried to find someone to take care of her. It's so stupid and it's why she just take care myself now. She's tired of always running away and trying to leave herself on someone else's doorstep. She thinks that's what Mary was doing when she joined the convent. It's just looking for a way out. And probably why Christy went out with all the guys and looks for someone who take care of her for rest of her life. Ted assures her that it's not stupid. She'll found the right guy after all. Christy says that she can't keep depending on other people. Ted tries to argue with her but Christy insists that when comes down to it you are the only one you can trust. And she knows what she has to do in the next time when the rapist comes near her.

Steve outraged because Mary keeps staring at him. Mary says that she's remembering how Steve hit her. Then he was real nice to her after. But he hit her first. Steve says they've agreed that they're not going to bring that up again. Mary knows how sorry he was. Mary asks if Steve ever hit Christy at all.
Steve vehemently denies this. Then he begins to tell that he already got a couple of job offers. He guesses that people like someone who's hard on criminals, who got a hard nose attitude towards crap. He's not worried about losing his job as assistant DA anymore. He's going to come out even better than before. He made a lot of contacts here. Meanwhile Mary's looks at him and sees Christy's bloodied face. Steve is annoying and demands that Mary stops to stare at him. He sharply comes closer to her and Mary panicked screams don't touch her.
Mary says that she's remember how Steve was at that day, the way he touched her and the way he looked at her. And he did that again this afternoon. Steve does not understand what "this". And what makes all of her so scared? First Mary, then her, then both of them. Terrified Mary asks if he's meaning Christy. Did Christy ever say him: "Stay away from me!"
Steve rejects everything. But Mary says that she has known it for days but she has been too scared to face it. Steve was the one who raped Christy. "Weren't you?!!!" she yells.
Steve says that she is wrong but Mary did not believe him. She finally realizes all of that. It was Steve all along that Christy was afraid of. Mary kept seeing it on sister's face, but she couldn't put it together. And then Steve forced her and all of them to accuse Ted, and he knew that Ted was innocent. His whole life has been lies, just one blending into another one. May be he don't know the difference between truth and lies at all. Mary says Steve that he is sick. He needs help. Steve turns around and yells "No!"
Mary asked if he's ready to face the truth. It takes a lot of courage. Steve agrees but Mary has no time to be glad because he immediately shouts that he's not sick. And if Mary have to blame someone, let she blame herself. It's all her fault. Mary cannot get it and Steve says that if Mary would returned the affection he felt for her, everything would've been all right. But Mary went away and who did she have left to turn to, but Christy? He's so sorry about the rape. He had never meant for it to happen. He just lost his head. That's all. Steve makes a couple of steps to Mary but she's backs away from him and asks to stay away from her. Steve outraged. Mary and her mother always looked down on him. And his own dad. And Christy. He doesn't deserve it.
Mary says that she went into the convent because she was afraid of him. She just realized it. Mary yells at Steve don't blame this on her. This was all Steve! Mary panics and tries to escape, but Steve does not allow, grabbing her by the arms and hisses that she can not go. He can not leave now.

Christy is trying to get Ted out of the house believing that being here is too dangerous for him. But Ted do not want leave her alone. Christy admits that the rapist came to the court during her trial. Ted says that the rapist's haunting her and he'll never end.
Christy says that's why she had to do what she's going to do. And Ted has to leave. The rapist threatened to kill Ted if Christy's not obey him. And now she ran away and he's really angry. Ted does not care about these threats. And he's not going to leave her alone. He asks her to call the police and tell rapist's name. And whole nightmare will be over for Christy. No more pain, no more suffering. Christy is silent, and Ted pulls her closer to the phone, offering immediately call the emergency number and say who did it. Christy stretches up, she looks away in silence.

* * *

Sophia tries to take the gun from CC but he yells so she has to move away. CC says that Sophia still could go to jail for the murder of Channing. To avoid she would need his influence and his testimony.
Lionel tells him to put the gun down. CC does not agree but at this point Eden run in followed by Cruz and Gina. Cruz demands CC put down his gun. CC points his gun at Lionel and says that Lionel should have been killed long time ago. He deserves to die. CC tries to pull the trigger, but he can not. He drops the gun and collapse on the floor. Sophia and Eden rush to him. CC mutters that he could not move. Eden says that they urgently need to take CC in the hospital but CC absolutely disagrees.
Lionel tries to understand why CC wanted to kill him, but Sophia says that it doesn't matter now. CC's doctor and paramedics run in. The doctor says that CC needs to be taken to hospital. CC says that he want not. He wants to go home. If he's going to die he wants to die in his own home. Eden tries to persuade him but CC asks her to take him home. To the house his grandfather built is, where he was born.
Eden reluctantly agrees. The doctor reluctantly allows but adds that he can't be responsible for what may happen. Eden promises her father that she will take care of him.

Christy says Ted that she cannot call the police. Ted really is not knows what he's asking her to do. He doesn't know who he is or what he is.
Nothing can stop him so mean complete things worse. It's all her fault. She should've done it when she first had the chance. Ted tries to calm her down. But Christy stands her ground and then leaves the room. Ted goes to the phone and dials the number.

Steve says terrified Mary that he only wants to talk to her and explain everything. He said that she shouldn't be afraid. He was good to Christy. He saved her from his dad beating up very many times. He was treating her with respect.
Mary yells that Steve raped Christy! Is that his idea of respect?! Steve replies that the only reason it happened was because Christy said such bad things to him. Steve was trying to help her. That's all he has ever wanted to do. Just to love her and help her. But she didn't want any part of his help. She said she wanted him out of her life. She didn't want to see him again and he lost his temper. Mary reminds that he get Christy to name Ted instead of his one. He threatened her. He almost ruined two people's lives. Steve says that he was wrong. Mary says that he should turn himself into the police. Steve absolutely rejects it. He have got career, future to think of. Besides everything is going to be OK. Christy's all right. Ted is free. No one's been hurt. Mary cries out that Christy's been hurt! She's scared. What he did is going to be with her for the rest of her life.
Steve replies that Christy will be alright. She'll just come back to him and that's all. Mary says that he needs help and warns him to stay away from Christy. At this point the phone rings. Steve picks up the phone. It's Ted who informs Steve that he found Christy. Now she is with him in the Duvall's house in Ventura and she is in big trouble with the guy raped her.
Steve hangs up and tells Mary that it's was Cruz. He found Christy. Mary says that she's going after Christy too. And she wants to call the police. Steve asks her do not, promising that he would do this himself. But Mary does not believe him. She starts to dial the police but Steve attacks her from behind and ties with his belt.
Mary cries and pleads do not hurt Christy. Steve stops her mouth with the gag. Mary tries to escape but Steve manages to catch her and ties her legs too. He says he will take care of everything. He'll kill Ted and pretend that he caught Ted in the act of raping. He'll deal with Mary later.
Steve leaves and Mary remains helplessly jerks in her bonds.

Christy returns to the living room keeping in her hands the box of her children's dolls. She says that she had dolls for every member of her family when she was a girl. She's playing with dolls a typical scene of her family – how her stepfather came home from work and saw her drinking mother.
"Drinking again, huh? You're always drunk when I come home".
"Don't tell me what to do! I can do I damn well, please!"
Ted suggests that probably it was frightening for her but Christy replies that it was just sometimes if she thought that someone could really get hurt. She shows Ted dolls of her and Mary. And then he says that she can remember the good times in her family too. Before her dad died. She was ten years old when he died and she loved him a lot.
Ted asks where the doll of her stepbrother is. Christy holds back her tears and says that she had this doll but she does not want to see it.

The Capwell's house. Lionel is trying to find out why CC wanted to kill him, but Eden and Sophia ask him to leave.
The doctor allows CC to lie down on the sofa in the atrium. The patriarch says that he's feeling better now, but the doctor insists he is still in danger and warns Eden that she'll be around CC night and day. Eden is ready to take care of everything.
CC says he'd like to see Ted and Kelly. They are out of the house but Eden promises to find them. CC wants to talk to Eden alone and asks everybody else leave. Eden promises his father that he can be fine. And surely he must see her when she has been married. CC agrees: he'll love see like that. Eden says that she's afraid of losing him. CC says that sometimes things are out of our control. And he says that he don't trust Sophia anymore.
Eden did not understand why, and he explains that Sophia's been lying to him all these years. Channing was not his son. He's Lionel son. Eden is shocked. CC feels tired and wants to sleep. But he still repeats that he hates Sophia. She's betrayed him. Eden tries to calm her father and promises that she'll take care of everything for him.
CC tearfully says that she is the best part of him. Eden, Ted and Kelly. He drops his head and Eden frightened that he's passing out but CC's just sleeping.
Cruz calls on the phone of Steve's apartment. Tied Mary manages to shake off the receiver but she's not able to speak because of her gag. Cruz tells Eden that there is really weird. Like someone on phone but somehow silent. He is going to go over there to see what is going on.
The doorbell rings. It's Nurse Baker who sent by CC's doctor to look after CC. She promises to take good care about Eden's father. Eden tells Cruz that she wishes if she could come with him, but she can not leave her father. Cruz assures her that it's just alright and leaves.

Christy and Ted talk about their relationship. Ted convinces Christy that if she will do what she's going to do she never forget about. The rapist's still be there, she'll be like running around in her mind. Christy replies that she has to do it her way. She has to do.
Ted says that he can get his father to protect her. CC just got a lot of influence and he can do a lot for her. Christy says that there is her sister and her mom about she must think. Ted promises that if she goes to the police and tells the truth everyone is going to be on her side and help her. But Christy is not convinced. She believes that she can rely only on herself. None of them noticed that Steve's face appears in the window.

CC's asleep and murmurs about his new will, then he's wakes up and sees beside Gina. He's upset that Eden is not there. He wants to get upand go to the study to sign the papers bought by Jack Lee. Gina offers to get papers here. CC refuses but after the unsuccessful attempt to get up and leave, he asks Gina to get documents on his desk after all.
Gina walks to the study and finds CC's new will, the papers about removing her and Brandon from the corporation and divorce papers. She decides that she does not want to make it easy for CC to divorce her and throw her out of his life.
Meanwhile CC still manages to get up and with great difficulty wobbles to his study. He found here Gina who is furious because he did. CC almost crawling to his desk. He says that Gina deserved it. Gina replies that she did everything to make him happy and he betrayed her with Sophia. Besides he never loved her and married only to control Brandon. And because he wanted more children. CC mutters that it's God's act. Gina says that she wanted children more than anything else and not her fault that she cannot have her own children. She learned to hate CC - just like Mason hates him. She's glad that CC is dying and hopes that this will happen very soon.
CC sits down at the table and says that it's not enough soon to save her and Brandon. Gina outraged why he hurt the innocent little boy who does nothing but only love him. CC signs the paper but the last one pulled out of his hands by Gina. Once, twice... CC stubbornly reaches to it and finally unconsciously collapses on the floor. Gina stares at him and wonders what she supposes to do.
