The Love Story of Mason Capwell and Mary Duvall
The Beginning

Part 32
CC does not believe in Mason's words about Channing. Mason says that he has the proof: the analysis of Channing's blood sample. The blood type from the autopsy report. It doesn't match up of CC's one. No way CC could be the father of Channing.
CC calls Mason crazy and believes that he faked the test results. He is trying to appeal to Sophia and Gina and then he finally notices that Sophia's crying. Understanding dawned slowly on CC's face. Mason told the truth.

Mary is trying to see Christy's motives for her escape. What could've frightened her? And why wouldn't she come to them to take care of her and protect her?
Steve becomes angry and Mary tells again that Steve must be hard on Christy. May be he frightened her. She always runs away when she is frightened. Steve denies that he was pressuring on Christy and then he says that it isn't anger. It's his concern and frustration because he's not able to do anything. He needs to do something.
Suddenly Mary has the flashback: she just came in Steve's apartment and sees how Christy looks scared. Mary stares at Steve.

CC asks Sophia to say that Mason is wrong. Mason repeats that he has the proof. Sophia screams at Gina to call the doctor. Mason wonders why she wants to call a doctor. You can have a hundred of them and still won't hear the answer you want.
CC asks Sophia to say anything. And again Mason intervenes. He says that his father would better to face the truth. The first-born of Sophia, his namesake was not his son. And he sacrificed a lot of his natural children for the one didn't belong to him. Mason tells Sophia that she might try to soften the blow if she can. Help CC through this current. He's not going to.
Sophia takes a deep breath and says that she can not lie. Mason told the truth.

Mary tells Steve that he have been real possessive of Christy. Wanted her to move into the apartment with him or at least close by. Steve says that he just wanted to protect Christy and if Christy's been living with him, none of this would have happened. She'd have never met Ted orgotten involved with the Capwells or the Lockridges. She'd never been raped.
Mary is shocked. Does he still think Ted did it? Steve says he don't think it, he know it. And Theda was right. Capwells got to Christy somehow. Both they bought her off and that's what gave her the courage to run away like this. She thinks she's got high and mighty friends now. Mary could not believe his words. She says that she does believe that Ted is innocent. Steve says that Capwells sold Mary a bill of goods. He has seen her talking to Mason. He's surely managed to charm. Mary indignantly says that it's has nothing to do with Mason. She was in that courtroom. She saw the same evidence that Steve did. And she saw how Christy changed her mind. Christy wasn't acting under duress, she meant it. Ted is not responsible for the rape. It's true that Mary got to know Capwells better since the trial, but that's just showed her that she was wrong about them the same way Steve are wrong about them right now. Steve growls that Mary lived in the convent and knows nothing about the people in the real world. And Christy was very confused. Yes, she panicked when she was seeing someone else wearing the same shirt as the rapist wore. But lots of people wear shirts like that. They're commonplace. Mary says that Steve had a shirt like that too. It didn't seem very important until now. Steve wondered why it is important now. He did wear the damn thing months ago.
Mary asks if he find it a kind of a strange coincidence that he should have a shirt the same as the rapist wore. Steve sees nothing strange about it. A lot of men wear shirts like that. But there's nothing the least significant about it. And he definitely did not like the direction of her thoughts.

She was already pregnant when they were married? All these years she did nothing but lied to him? And Mason is known the truth before CC did?
Sophia forced to confirm all. She tries to get CC take his meds but CC only wants answers. If he was not the father of her newborn so who were? Who was she sleeping with before they were married? He has the right to know the truth. He treated Channing like a prince, loved the son who was not even his own flesh and blood! So who was his father?
Mason says Sophia that his father is serious. She should go ahead and tell him. Think how well she will sleep tonight after unburden herself. Guilt-free untroubled sleep alone at last.

Cruz replies that Christy explained it in the court.
At the point Mary intervenes. She says that she was in that hospital room at that morning too. She saw and heard the same thing that Steve did. The difference is she doesn't believe that Christy was accusing Ted when she named him. She meant something else by that. Steve barks that nobody cares what she believes. Eden responds that she cares. At least one of them is come to their senses.
Mary recalls Christy's morning in the hospital after the rape and how she called Ted's name. Mary realizes that Christy wasn't afraid of Ted at that morning. She was afraid of Steve. Mason tries to learn from CC what is happened with him but CC does not want to talk about. He can think just the one thing: Lionel can't live! He does not have to win! Gina says Mason that CC has an aneurysm in the brain and doctors say that he is in short time to go.
Shocked Mason shouts why nobody told him and tries to put his hand on the father's shoulder but CC furiously shake off. He says he will kill Sophia too. She made love with Lionel. She and CC both killed Channing but Sophia should have killed Lionel. She and Lionel laugh over his life! CC shouts all get out from study and left him alone. Sophia, Mason and Gina leave out.
