And after the fight with Dylan, who appeared a little earlier (when Mason was arguing with Kelly and Dylon damaged his eye, pretending to be a saver), Mason goes directly to Mary.

| Mary keeps refusing dates, saying she is busy with the work and Mason decides to act. He buys her riding gaiters and convinces her to the exciting hacking at the beach... |

| The clinic, being charitable, does not turn out to be very safety place. Angel Ramirez rushes it and Mary and Mason, who have come there soon, become his hostages. Cruz comes and tries to convince Angel to make the hostages free. During the conversation he gives Mason a beck, the latter suddenly rushes to the exit, Angel fires. Mason falls down, Mary cries with horror. |

| After Mason's escape Cruz tries to convince Angel to make Mary free and to surrender to the police but when he almost succeeds in doing this, the policemen rush into. Angel is arrested and Mary learns from the policemen that Mason's shoulder is wounded and he is in the hospital now. But at the hospital she is said he has already gone home. |
| Mason takes advantage out of his position of "the wounded hero" and invites Mary to the holyday of Halloween. He arranges "the fashion show" with the help of the girls of Ginger, well known in the town, who holds the whorehouse. Mary makes fun of this but she chooses a dress. But a little later Gina spoils her fun, saying that if a man buys her an expensive dress, he wants something in return. |

| CC's birthday approaches. Mason comes to his father's bed and tells him about his offences. |

| CC's heartbeat grows faster when Mason mentions Channing. Mary says to Mason that his word are cruel, Mason reacts very sensitive and asks her if she considers him to be a monster. |

| Mary keeps silence and Mason, considering her silence to be a positive answer, goes away quickly. He goes to the airport to fly away but at the last moment Mary arrives. |

She says he did not give her a chance to answer and she would like to answer his question on her way, not the way he answered instead of her.
She says: "No. I don't think you are a monster, I've never thought you were a monster and I don't think I ever will think you are a monster".
Mason asks: "Even after all the thing you heard me say to and about my father?"
She answers: "Yes, I think you trust me and you trust to be understood." |

| They go to "Buzz's", a cafe at the coast and have a talk there. |

| Mary finds a pearl in the oyster and Mason says it will bring them good luck. |
