Christy says that she just could not tell her the truth and Theda agrees. Of course, she could not. Christy had a major feel like it was her fault. That's how they do, these people, these sick people like Steve and his daddy. They're all twisted and turned it on somebody else. How she cannot understand it? Christy quietly says that it's happening to Theda almost the same thing around with Willard Bassett stayed in room with way he did. Theda replies that Christy's her daughter; she supposed to look after Christy who needed her. Christy tells that this was a bad time for all of them. But they'll help each other.
Theda sadly says that she does not understand how Christy can ever forgive her. Christy says it's not Theda's fault but Theda objects what she started it when she married that man who she barely knew. Christy comforts her and says that she did not know how all would turn. But now everything is over. Theda's not drinking now, and Christy's not running away anymore. It's over. All will be alright. Theda wonders how Christy ever gets to be like this. She did so much stand alone and still wanting to go back to people who never gave her that she needed from them.
Christy replies that all she wants is a chance to start over. And she hopes that the police, judge, lawyers see it. Theda surprised. Of course they do. Ted became her real friend, and Christy did all this to protect him. It's all so clear. Christy hopes that her mother is right. So hopes.

She asks Ted how many times Christy called him from her mother's house and offers to tell what he was talking to Christy when he got here. And how much time they spent together before Steve's killing. Ted responds quite truthfully and says he had no idea who was the rapist until Steve's death.
Then she offers Ted to describe the actual moment of the shooting. Ted says that first he saw Christy and Steve through the window and then he came in the house. Steve turned to him and Ted saw the gun in Christy's hand. Steve said that Ted was right in time and pulled out his gun. And that's when Christy shot. Steve just moved toward to Ted who just was frozen in horror and he fell. Then Steve moaned and died. Felicia asks how many minutes there were between the time he shot and really died and Ted answers one or two minutes. Felicia wonders why Ted thought that Steve wanted to kill him. Ted is nervous and replies that's Steve plan as they aware now. He wanted to kill Ted and then make it look like Ted had raped Christy. Felicia continues. If Steve wanted to kill Ted why Christy's holding the gun on him. And Steve turned his back on her. The man who raped her. The man she hated more than anything in the world – and he turned his back on her. She's holding a gun on him and he doesn't think there's any danger. Ted's even more nervous and says that he cannot explain. Steve was just crazy. Felicia says that she can see much more believable situation. Christy hated this man, this abuser of children. She wanted him out of her life forever and she couldn't take it anymore. So she did shoot him to back and she took his gun up to put it in his hand to make it look as ifhe was going to shoot Ted. Or Ted put the gun in his hand.
Ted denies it and says that Steve's death was not murder. Felicia warns that if Ted were lying for her he becomes an accessory but Ted insists he is telling the truth. He and Christy both were told the truth. At the point the questioning is over. Jack Lee takes Ted away. Felicia says Cruz that Ted is an honest kid. Unfortunately even honest kidslie. Now they've to get Christy's story to be sure. Just one mismatch and they got Ted.
Ted sees Laken in the hall of the police station and immediately run to her with the question about Christy. Laken is upset that he cannot answer to simple question "how are you" without asking how Christy is. Ted shrugs and again asks if she manages to make the appointment. Laken confirmed and they go out.

Mary does not know who is Pamela but she think that Mason is not in any condition to go looking for someone at this point. She repeat asks him to tell her where he is but Mason supposedly asks her be here and wait for him. Mary stunned and re-asks him if he really says "wait for you".

Laken's upset. She bitterly says that she can see now that it's her purpose and she'll just leave them alone. Ted tries to stop her but no avail.

Ted returned to Christy and quickly retelling what were questions he was asked during his questioning. There was kind of a weird question but they want to know how long it took Steve to die after he was shot and Christy need to remember that's one or two minutes. He recounts his own answers for Christy so she'll not say something contrary.
Christy tearfully says she hated that he had to lie for her. Ted says that she saved his life. And it is also hard for her too. But they'll keep stick together to the thing and all will be fine. Probably be fine. Be have to. |
