Being alone with Christy Theda confesses that she did not come down with Christy because when she found out it was Steve she cannot look at Christy's face. She's cries, saying sorry and Christy tries to comfort her mother. Theda blames herself. How she cannot see it? How she cannot know the truth about Steve?
Christy says that she just could not tell her the truth and Theda agrees. Of course, she could not. Christy had a major feel like it was her fault. That's how they do, these people, these sick people like Steve and his daddy. They're all twisted and turned it on somebody else. How she cannot understand it? Christy quietly says that it's happening to Theda almost the same thing around with Willard Bassett stayed in room with way he did. Theda replies that Christy's her daughter; she supposed to look after Christy who needed her. Christy tells that this was a bad time for all of them. But they'll help each other.
Theda sadly says that she does not understand how Christy can ever forgive her. Christy says it's not Theda's fault but Theda objects what she started it when she married that man who she barely knew. Christy comforts her and says that she did not know how all would turn. But now everything is over. Theda's not drinking now, and Christy's not running away anymore. It's over. All will be alright. Theda wonders how Christy ever gets to be like this. She did so much stand alone and still wanting to go back to people who never gave her that she needed from them.
Christy replies that all she wants is a chance to start over. And she hopes that the police, judge, lawyers see it. Theda surprised. Of course they do. Ted became her real friend, and Christy did all this to protect him. It's all so clear. Christy hopes that her mother is right. So hopes.

Ted comes to the police station and sees Julia who wants to talk to him. They discuss purposes and reasons for today Ted's questioning and then Julia says that Laken worries about Ted. Julia's careful questioning responded by Ted's nervously complaining that he and Christy are being kept apart from each other just like some sort of hardened criminals. Julia explains that it's standard policy. The only way they can reasonably determine if there is any collaboration. All looking for is the truth here. She tells Ted just to make sure that he gives them the truth and there won't be any problem. Ted replies that it would be better if they had a little more trust in him and Christy.

Mary comes at Capwells' place in search of Mason. Gina opens the door.
Mary says that she already was looking for Mason in his apartment, but she can't reach him and think that maybe he was here. Gina asks what for she wants to see him and Mary replies that they've been in touch with each other's in the trial and he actually offered to help her to find Christy when she disappeared, and Mary a sort of assumed he'd contact her now with what's happening with Ted and Christy. She just wants to talk to him.
Gina says that if Mary is looking for a lawyer for her sister she doesn't think Mason's available. But Mary replies that Christy already has a lawyer and she's looking for Mason as a friend. And asks Gina where he might be. Gina answers that last time she heard Mason was out drinking and she wouldn't be surprised if that was true but she have no idea where he is now. Mary says her goodbye and turns to leave but Gina stops her. She says that if Mary will see him before she do she would tell him that his family really could use his help as his father is in the hospital. And to talk about the family business. There's no one around to run it so they're in a kind of vain. Mary says that she is very surprised he wouldn't be here during the crisis. She did think he'd be presiding over everything. Gina explains that Mason was recently thrown out of the house and disinherited. But since there're much changed, and Mason did not know about it. Therefore it is very important to reach him as soon as possible to report it. Mary says OK and leaves.

Cruz talks with Felicia Dalton, recent the assistant DA. They discuss some past case and it turns out that Felicia has fair a gut feeling for lying witnesses. A man raped a girl, abuses her and she turns around to gets evil.

Laken comes to Christy to arrange her meeting with Ted and in the process she's trying to understand what both of them is hide. Christy says that she told the truth, and tries to turn tables accusing Laken in her distrust to Ted. Laken insists that she loves Ted so she worries about him. Christy recalls that a trust supposed to figure in there somewhere when you love someone. Its obvious Laken don't trust Ted. Are she would be coming to Christy playing games and trying to find out if Ted's lying or not?
Laken don't think that anybody wants to be lying. Christy says that Ted needs her. He needs Laken to believe in him right now. Laken says that if she didn't believe in him she wouldn't be here trying to help him. She's trying to help Christy too but she does make it impossible.
Laken wants to leave, but Christy stops her and still asks Laken to help her to meet with Ted. Laken promises to make the arrangements.

Felicia Dalton questions Ted in the presence of Ted's lawyer Jack Lee and Cruz.
She asks Ted how many times Christy called him from her mother's house and offers to tell what he was talking to Christy when he got here. And how much time they spent together before Steve's killing. Ted responds quite truthfully and says he had no idea who was the rapist until Steve's death.
Then she offers Ted to describe the actual moment of the shooting. Ted says that first he saw Christy and Steve through the window and then he came in the house. Steve turned to him and Ted saw the gun in Christy's hand. Steve said that Ted was right in time and pulled out his gun. And that's when Christy shot. Steve just moved toward to Ted who just was frozen in horror and he fell. Then Steve moaned and died. Felicia asks how many minutes there were between the time he shot and really died and Ted answers one or two minutes. Felicia wonders why Ted thought that Steve wanted to kill him. Ted is nervous and replies that's Steve plan as they aware now. He wanted to kill Ted and then make it look like Ted had raped Christy. Felicia continues. If Steve wanted to kill Ted why Christy's holding the gun on him. And Steve turned his back on her. The man who raped her. The man she hated more than anything in the world – and he turned his back on her. She's holding a gun on him and he doesn't think there's any danger. Ted's even more nervous and says that he cannot explain. Steve was just crazy. Felicia says that she can see much more believable situation. Christy hated this man, this abuser of children. She wanted him out of her life forever and she couldn't take it anymore. So she did shoot him to back and she took his gun up to put it in his hand to make it look as ifhe was going to shoot Ted. Or Ted put the gun in his hand.
Ted denies it and says that Steve's death was not murder. Felicia warns that if Ted were lying for her he becomes an accessory but Ted insists he is telling the truth. He and Christy both were told the truth. At the point the questioning is over. Jack Lee takes Ted away. Felicia says Cruz that Ted is an honest kid. Unfortunately even honest kidslie. Now they've to get Christy's story to be sure. Just one mismatch and they got Ted.
Ted sees Laken in the hall of the police station and immediately run to her with the question about Christy. Laken is upset that he cannot answer to simple question "how are you" without asking how Christy is. Ted shrugs and again asks if she manages to make the appointment. Laken confirmed and they go out.

The phone rings in the Duvall's apartment. Mary picks up the receiver and realizes that it's Mason. The speaking is one-sided for viewers.Mary understands that probably Mason's drinking and asks him to tell where he is so she can come pick him up. He doesn't sound like he is in any condition to drive. Then she remembers about Gina's request and tells her words to Mason.
Mason clearly don't believe that something might changed and don't think about Capwells as his own family. Supposedly he says that he want to go looking for Pamela. Mary does not know who is Pamela but she think that Mason is not in any condition to go looking for someone at this point. She repeat asks him to tell her where he is but Mason supposedly asks her be here and wait for him. Mary stunned and re-asks him if he really says "wait for you".

Laken leads Ted in the CC Capwell's study but no one was there. Ted nervously asks if Christy will be here and Laken opens the secret door in the tunnel. And Christy really appears out of there. Ted is happy but tells Laken that he and Christy need a few minutes alone.
Laken's upset. She bitterly says that she can see now that it's her purpose and she'll just leave them alone. Ted tries to stop her but no avail.
Ted returned to Christy and quickly retelling what were questions he was asked during his questioning. There was kind of a weird question but they want to know how long it took Steve to die after he was shot and Christy need to remember that's one or two minutes. He recounts his own answers for Christy so she'll not say something contrary.
Christy tearfully says she hated that he had to lie for her. Ted says that she saved his life. And it is also hard for her too. But they'll keep stick together to the thing and all will be fine. Probably be fine. Be have to.
