Mason and Mary are making love for the first time. |

They confess to each other that they have dreamed about it for a long time. They realize that what has happened will cause a great deal of problems but they do not want to part from each other even for a minute. Mason says he does not understand what he feels and considers himself to be a teenager in love. Mary answers she has been loving him for a long time but she was terribly afraid of her feelings. |

Mary begins feeling guilty because of Mark, Mason asks her not to blame herself. Mary says she would have tried to make her marriage work but for one circumstance. She does not answer Mason's question what kind of a circumstance it is but says she has to make a decision what she can do further by herself. |

"Did anybody ever tell you that you are spoiled?"
"No, because I become angry when they say so. But I'm getting better."
"You are better. Better than anybody I know." |

Mary says Mason she loves him for the first time. And admits this fact to herself. |
|
She leaves, Mason stays at the stable. |
|
Mary arrives to the convent. She wants to be alone to take the decision on her marriage and Mason. |
